KPI Recruiting

Overview:

As the sole graphic designer at KPI Recruitment Group, I played a key role in redefining the company’s visual identity and elevating its brand presence across all platforms. With full creative ownership from concept to completion, I transformed all client-facing and internal materials to meet high professional and industry standards. This began with a complete redesign and rebrand of company presentations, brochures, and documents—ensuring all print and digital materials were cohesive, visually striking, and consistently on brand.

I then expanded the company’s visual strategy across social media by developing a distinctive branded theme and digital style, allowing KPI to stand out within the highly competitive recruitment market. My creative input soon evolved beyond traditional design tasks, leading to the development of projects that had never been undertaken before—such as animated logo intros, short-form videos, and a full health and safety training video featuring professional voiceovers, all recorded and produced by myself.

One of my standout projects included designing the stadium boards and advertising stands for Crewe Alexandra Football Club, a major opportunity to represent KPI’s brand to a wider public audience. This required large-format design expertise, precision artwork setup for print, and close collaboration with external suppliers to ensure the highest visual impact.

Beyond digital and stadium work, I managed numerous large-scale print and environmental branding projects, including refurbishing office spaces with custom-branded wallpapers. This involved conducting photoshoots, liaising with clients and printers, negotiating costs, and managing supplier relationships to ensure seamless project delivery.

As the marketing team grew, my role became integral to the production of all printed and digital marketing collateral—brochures, flyers, posters, roller banners, calendars, magazines, and both digital and print billboards. I also designed bespoke event themes and visuals for the company’s annual events, tailoring creative assets for KPI’s 11 specialist recruitment sectors. This required working directly with sector Directors, planning my own design schedule, and overseeing marketing consistency across multiple branches.

Throughout my time at KPI, I not only elevated the company’s creative standards but also embedded a strong, consistent visual identity across every channel—helping shape how KPI presented itself both internally and to the world.

Creative Tools Used

Utilising the Adobe Suite was crucial in my role as majority of my work required special graphic work, post editing, and touching up as well as illustrations and animations. There were also few pieces of work which required video editing and audio editing. Whilst using the Adobe Suite allowed me to execute all work confidently and correctly whether it be digital or print, there were times where by I used Canva to create designs and templates for marketing colleagues to use as it is a more basic tool that is easier to navigate for non-designers.

Highlights From My Time At KPI Recruiting.

Brochures

This role required me to create a plethora of printing material, especially magazines, small brochures and large client facing brochures. Each had its own element to it, some were very corporate while the internal magazine was very relaxed and had humour and more quirkier designs.

Crewe Alexandra Football Stadium

Bringing ideas to life is very usual, as creating something and seeing it in print is a nice feeling, however, creating something and seeing it on the side of a football stadium stand, alongside the pitch and back of the stands was something much more meaningful. While it seemed a very simple design, the limited design had to be impactful which made the task at hand more complex but very rewarding.

Photoshopping, chopping and editing

I felt a lot of satisfaction in post editing photos which were published online in articles, forums and on social media, which wowed not only colleagues but stakeholders and clients. Knowing that my work impressed clients which then contributed as a factor to collaborate more with clients ultimately benefited the partnerships further.

Walls, colour & ACTION!

Large scale wallpaper print jobs were something new to me, which started as a challenge, managing very heavy files but then slowly learning how to handle files, print jobs and creating art for walls that will remain in offices, which led to reactions of amazement and a sense of deep gratitude seeing my designs be appreciated and adding to the atmosphere.

Direction

When an opinion was needed, my advice was taken, during all projects, whether it be social media, online or print, for all parts of the business. Whether it was one of the 11 sectors or the external sister companies based in Dubai using my accolades in arabic literature and calligraphy to simple posts for recruiters that needed a personal touch.

Print Format

During the creation of these assets and much more, I had to take into account all print formats and possible outcomes, by ensuring all design files were ready and in accordance to the way it would be printed. Working with materials such as metal, gloss, vinyl and wallpaper in silk and matte formats.

Digital Format

While working on print format essentially became a priority within my role, digital assets were still a big aspect of keeping the design machine at KPI alive. This required more advanced techniques and efficiency in design by turning PDF’s into interactive PDF’s, by also creating more purposeful and interactive email marketing, also enhancing the website and keeping a consistent bran voice and aesthetic.

External Projects.

During my time at KPI Recruiting, I also worked on external projects with Kayzin Recruitment, a sister company of KPI, plus Crewe Rail Forum which was sponsored by KPIR. I was tasked with creating a website which looked appealing, recognisable to the Crewe area, and also creating an identity for the new forum which grouped the neighbouring rail companies together.  After liaising with the Directors, and gaining feedback from meetings that took place between stakeholders, I was given the freedom to create a site on any chosen platform, which led me to follow my strengths. That being WordPress and using resources from online asset sites as well as my own graphic design skills to visually enhance the site. I knew my limitations and I understood the message and what needed to be delivered.

After successfully creating the site and receiving praise for the sites layout, appeal and UI/UX, I mentored teammates on how to use the site and navigate the backend. This allowed me to focus on the SEO of the site, specifically, on-page SEO and content SEO.
